An Austin Farm to Table Event for the Ages

One of the greatest things about Texas is its ability to lasso its own allure and bring the outdoors inside in every way imaginable. From its big, bright stars at night to the bountiful harvests of local farms throughout the state, it’s a missed opportunity when a corporate event doesn’t harness some of that wild beauty and flavor and let it delight everyone in attendance. So, for a recent leadership forum hosted by a client in the insurance industry, we couldn’t help but bring the farm to the table, the table to the farm (so to speak), and the untouched beauty of the Lone Star State to every tabletop and plate.

After the leadership forum took care of business inside the ACL Live venue, where unconventional seating and branded elements were the order of the day for the general session, the event shifted to Fair Market for an epic farewell party. Inside, Contigo Catering provided upscale cuisine sourced straight from the land around us, while trucks from Peached Tortilla and Gourdough’s kept hungry guests satiated with sweet and savory cocktail bites outside. Roaming servers shucked oysters, poured wine and served up boozy ice cream concoctions that wowed the crowd. A full pig roast with generous southern sides kept things real, as did a one-of-a-kind salad station with a living lettuce wall doubling as decor and sustenance for everyone.

The night wasn’t just about food, though — in true Austin fashion, it was about good deeds and good music, too. A member of the hosting team shaved her head for charity, raising a hefty donation in the process, and the night ended with an iconic surprise: a performance by none other than Counting Crows.
