Put a Bird On It: An Avian-Themed Event Recap
Here at Kennedy, our very logo includes a hummingbird, so it’s obvious we love things with wings. So when a longtime client with a birdcage logo came to us with a request for a themed holiday party this past year, we immediately thought to put a bird on it — figuratively speaking, anyway. We love a themed event, and the more room we have to play, the better. Given the serendipity of the concept, this particular occasion was easy to rise to: no flight of fancy was too far out.
Held at ACL Live, this year-end employee appreciation event soared with a bird-inspired motif threaded throughout. To transform the upper balcony into a lush green jungle with tropical plants and string art, we partnered with a local floral designer and art installation collective, both of which brought lofty creative concepts to life in a real-world wonderland of sensory delights. Back inside, the artists installed a series of electronic infinity mirror panels behind the stage and a show-stopping feather chandelier above the dance floor, while the floral designer topped each table with elegant blooms — including, of course, birds of paradise.
Guests were mesmerized by the visual candy all around them, made even more dreamlike with the help of custom lighting from a local company known for its ability to convert even the most ordinary places into ethereal spaces. Servers moved gracefully throughout the event in stunning avian headpieces and elegant white feathered costumes as a live band kept the beat onstage, while performing artists in their fine feathered best moved through the crowd as well, heightening the drama. Support beams on the breezeways were festooned in hypnotic patterns and decorated with palm fronds, echoing the treetop theme as guests came and went throughout the evening. It’s been more than a month since that magical night, but we have to say, we still feel like we’re flying when we think back to it.
