Kennedy Knows How to Holiday: A Roundup of Corporate Holiday Events
Creating perfect opportunities for people to connect in group settings is what we do day in and day out, and there’s no better time than the holidays to truly revel in the joys of bringing people together. This year, we helped clients old and new celebrate the season in grand fashion, from in-office festivities to full venue buyouts where guests partied late into the night. Here’s a fond look back at the 2017 holiday season, with bright glimpses into a quartet of corporate holiday events we planned and produced for brands of every stripe in the wild, warm (even in December!) heart of Austin.
Walking in a Winter Wonderland
For a well-known auto industry client, we hit the gas and burned rubber from a creative standpoint, running with a frozen sky theme. Icy centerpieces anchored the look and feel of each long table, blue hues threaded throughout the decor and lighting kept things cool as could be throughout night, and subtle snowflake projections on the walls transported guests to a winter wonderland far away from the warm night air of Austin.
Heating things up just a little with a top-notch DJ and a host of fun games, we balanced out the night’s festivities with a duo of white-hot lounge settings and sent guests home with a wintry piece of memorabilia: a fun, frosty DIY snow globe to remember the night by.
Family Fun + Grown-Up Glam
For one popular semiconductor client based in Austin, we planned and produced not one, but two events — one full-fledged bash in the evening for employees and their guests, and one on a Saturday morning in early December geared specifically to their kids.
For the grownups, we stepped back in time and produced a slick seventies vibe with a Studio 54 feel, complete with a disco-tastic photo booth, a groovier-than-thou music porch, and lava lamps to spare. LED bar tables kept the dance floor’s sidelines lit (quite literally), while dozens of disco balls hung from the ceiling as a live band kept the crowd moving all night long.
At our second event, we focused on the kiddos and conjured up a superhero holiday theme with wandering superheroes , a heaping helping of presents wrapped in classic comic book paper, an ornament-making station, themed sugar cookies, and cup after cup of hot cocoa.
Much to the young guests’ delight, Wonder Woman herself spent the morning spinning happy pop tunes on the ones and twos, and Super Santa, of course, was on hand to check his list not once, but twice. We’ve gotta say, we admire that level of perfectionism.
Home for the Holidays
Sometimes, nothing’s better than a cozy night out on the town with friends amid comfy leather couches and traditional holiday decorations, nibbling on your favorite foods from childhood and sipping whiskey by a roaring fire. It sounds like a dream, but we made it a reality with our “Home for the Holidays” themed party for an Austin-based tech company that wanted to give its employees a casual but luxurious year-end sendoff.
So, we decked the halls in classic holiday style and served up homestyle faves like gingerbread cookies, pigs in a blanket, mac & cheese, and miniature beef pot pies like mom used to make. With tight-knit colleagues who are something of of a second family to one another, a family-style celebration was in order, and that’s just what they enjoyed on their big night out.
