The holiday season brings with it an annual cornucopia of social events, from no-holds-barred office holiday bashes to intimate gatherings of close friends and family. Beautiful seasonal tablescapes can heighten the mood of any special occasion, and to illustrate how versatile and gorgeous tabletop design can be when put into action with different points of inspiration, we set four of our talented event designers loose on the same table, rendering it into a quartet of beautiful results.

Kaitlyn’s Tabletop Design: Autumn Au Naturel

What inspired your tablescape?

Creating a tablescape that speaks to our home. A curated and stylized table using things that I can find around my kitchen, pantry, or bar so all things feel personal and familiar while being beautiful.

What are some current holiday-themed trends you’re excited about?

This may not be a new trend, but definitely one that I think is coming back en vogue is mixing heirloom/family pieces with current finds. Some of my favorite tables have pieces from stores like Crate & Barrel or Anthropolgie, as well as china, linens, and such from my family.

What’s the most special/memorable decor you’ve ever seen or been a part of creating?

Thanksgiving has been a tradition of my boyfriend’s and mine — we always spend it just the two of us, but don’t hold back and instead go all out! Very rarely do we have an opportunity to create a beautiful meal, table, and evening for just the two of us, so I feel this is a holiday for us to share. That’s really special to us and reminds me how thankful I am.

What’s your favorite table setting element to play with?

Definitely centerpieces. For the last several years, Thanksgiving has always been in conjunction with a trip, so I’m always working in a new kitchen, dining room, and destination. I take advantage of the environment I’m in, which leads me to a floral store where I can find unique pieces that I might not find in Austin.

What are your favorite pieces in the Kennedy Collection?

For tabletop, I love our antlers and votive variety. I am so happy to be using our farm tables as well — they are understated and simple but lovely!

Sunny’s Tabletop Design: Fall Florals

What inspired your tablescape?

Each Thanksgiving my husband and I make the trek back to Louisiana to spend the holiday with my in-laws. I pulled inspiration from Louisiana’s state flower, the magnolia.

What are some current holiday-themed trends you’re excited about?

I’ve really loved the way that actual fruit and veggies (oranges, pumpkins, grapes, pomegranates, etc.) have been incorporated into centerpieces. It’s such a fun an unexpected addition to your traditional arrangement.

What’s the most special/memorable decor you’ve ever seen or been a part of creating?

My favorite part to any tablescape is, of course, the food. I like layering different height tiers of sides and desserts down the middle of the table with the Turkey (or your main entrée) as the show stopping centerpiece.

What’s your favorite table setting element to play with?

I think that a place card adds such a nice touch of personalization to your traditional serving-ware. To keep with the organic feel of a green table runner, a magnolia leaf makes a perfect unique (an inexpensive) place card!

I love our wide variety of tabletop décor. There are so many ways to style our pieces and some nice votives, lanterns, etc. add such a great enhancement to any table or lounge vignettes.

Lindsey’s Tabletop Design: Merry Minimalism

What are some current holiday-themed trends you’re excited about?

I love that the farm-to-table look is starting to become much more apparent in holiday tablescapes. You can make a table setting look so much more colorful just by incorporating simple items like artichokes, pomegranates or kumquats into centerpieces or place settings. Not to mention that it’s extremely easy and affordable.

What’s the most special/memorable decor you’ve ever seen or been a part of creating?

I started hosting "Friends-giving" a couple years ago, and it continues to be one of my favorite days of the year. Every year, my friends come over early in the morning the day of to help me set up, and together we totally transform my entire apartment. I move every single piece of furniture out of my living room and into my bedroom so that I can place a massive communal table smack dab in the middle of my apartment. The decorations are completely DIY and it’s really fun to see everyone’s personal touches come together to create a space for us to wine and dine ourselves in later that night.

What’s your favorite table setting element to play with?

Name cards. They’re the one element that you’re able to really customize and I think that automatically makes them the most fun to play with.

What are your favorite pieces in the Kennedy Collection?

I love our brightly colored velvet sofas and chairs. They have the ability to warm up any room. In addition, they look good anywhere – whether in front of an exposed brick wall or, for example, in front of our gloss walls in the office, which are vinyl-wrapped in an intricate design.

Jeylan’s Tabletop Design: Cozy Complexity

What inspired your tablescape?

Giving my friends and family a unique dinner experience with fun talking points and a customized table setting for each person. I like the idea of making people feel special on a day of togetherness.

What are some current holiday-themed trends you’re excited about?

I love that DIY is mainstream now. It takes the pressure off and puts the fun back in! Plus, you don’t have to drop hundreds of dollars on creating a unique look. Spend that extra money on good quality food and delicious wine.

What’s the most special/memorable decor you’ve ever seen or been a part of creating?

Hosting a last-minute Christmas Dinner. A gaggle of friends didn’t make it home for the holidays, so we all got together in my tiny New York apartment. We used our coffee table and bedside tables to make a long table and everyone sat on the floor. I made custom ornaments as a name cards for everyone and it was just a really nice, unexpected gathering. We ended up having to make a late-night wine run to keep the party going!

What’s your favorite table setting element to play with?

Name cards. I think it’s such a fun unique touch that guests love taking home. I’ve gone to friends’ houses months after I hosted a dinner party, and they have their name cards up on their fridge. Always fun to see people enjoy that keepsake item.

What are your favorite pieces in the Kennedy Collection?

For tabletop, I love our lanterns and geo vases. They can be used for so many different themes. For furniture, I love the colorful sofas and the chairs with metal accents. There are endless combinations of seating vignettes I can make with our collection.
